FBNeo in PS4
« on: January 18, 2022, 06:47:30 PM »
https://github.com/Cpasjuste/pemu/releases/tag/v5.0

I ve tried, great emulation, and there is a atomiswave option (that doesnt shows any supported game, maybe in future..).

It shows 1.0.0.3, but it seems that is based on fbneo 03-25-2020, b26b974f3588e7f14a77ea089.

Source code available at github

It's using our unmodified source code (not sure why it would be using an older version though) with its own ui.

Well, i'm not gonna recommend using this for 2 reasons :
- we don't maintain that port so we can't help you if you encounter any issue with it
- over the years i have seen a few bug reports ending up on our discord for this pfba/pfbneo project, and when i tried to reach out its author about them, he told me he doesn't have time to provide support

Imho, you are better using our libretro port (it's supposedly available on ps4) since we can help you with that one.

However, retroarch for ps4 use an older fbalpha core 0.2.97.08...thats why i m using this another emu.

Developed refreshed github with this info:

- fbneo: bump core to git rev e44cd75

Is that so ? I saw someone on a forum saying he was using the FBNeo core through retroarch on his ps4, he didn't give much details though, maybe he was building it himself ?

I dont think so.

Released in 2019, its based off retroarch v1.8.8... cps1 and 2, for example, has a terrible sound lag.

An updated core will be marvelous!

@barbudreadmon Do you think that ps4 cpu is capable to run System32 at full speed? Emulator had problems with it.

Probably not, ps4's cpu is only 1.6Ghz, it probably has some nice multi-thread performance due to the fact it has 8 cores, but most emulators - including FBNeo - are single-thread so they couldn't care less about those 8 cores.
