Athelstone, I set my refresh rate to 75 Hz, and the problem vanished. Thanks for the suggestion.

Now I have another problem. I'm trying to open up R15; but everytime I do, this error message pops up:

FB Alpha encountered an unrecoverable problem and will be terminated
Guru Meditation: #c0000005.00670B37

I tried uninstalling/reinstalling the emulator, and rebooted my laptop, but the problem is still there. Can anybody tell me what this means?

Ok, I found the solution to my problem. So, people, if you're experiencing the same problem, just simply go to your "fba.ini" file (from the Config folder), navigate to this section:

// The selected blitter module
nVidSelect 1

Change the value from 1 to 0, save the file, and the problem of opening/running the emulator should disappear.

THx for the advice Athelstone.  Unfortunately, I tried what u advised me to do and no luck. :(  There is no drivers available for the converter and the stick is a ps2 stick.  I tried rebooting the comp but that didn't work as well. i dunno what to do

hey guys, i just got a config file for the same converter and stick from a friend but for some reason when I loaded fba R15 the config shows up as Player 0 and when i tried to set player 1 it would load the defaults overwriting the current config .ini file.

The only other thing I can think of is to try and plug the converter into a different USB slot.

Though it's strange that you can configure the buttons fine in Mame, but not in FBA. Perhaps if Captain has time he could change the way FBA accepts buttons inputs to be more similar to that in Mame.

Small observation:

If you play 3rdS on FBAE, and you go against an opponent online, and you and your opponent fight in Remy's stage, frameskipping will occur, randomly and occasionally, due to some heavy activities going on in Remy's stage. Nothing like this happens on MAME 32++.

Please remember guys that MAME (kaillera builds) handle kaillera netplay different than FBA because those build are specifically modified to work good while playing online. FBA has support for Kaillera but afaik FBA was not specifically made for netplaying.

I can't say that issue with SFIII3N is related to the CPS3 driver because I think a driver can't modify or affect the kaillera external (DLL) core.

To be sure that there is a problem with the CPS3 driver and netplay we have to make testings with a excellent internet connection, an excellent kaillera server, an excellent video card, lot of RAM, no firewalls and lot of other things ...and then if the problem persist we can blame the driver and FBA.

I don't have a extreme internet connection to be developing FBA in the netplay aspect, but maybe in the future if I have the resources I will try and work on the support of a better netplaying for FBA.

Actually, fba's netplay integration is better than that of mame32++. It may have a few issues here and there but its implemented at a higher level and its organized. mame++'s kaillera implementation seriously looks like poorly done hacks. Those complaining about frameskip should play with frameskip off.

Also, CCPS-X, if you ever do kaillera testing, never go into emulinker servers like godweapon. They're broken at the core.

so why don't you use mame 32++ ?

i personnally think kaillera beeing too old and a new way of online gaming with emulator must be done.

(and i'm not talking about kaillera P2P.. who is a little bit better)

ever hear of GGPO? it's 10000x better than kaillera. it will hopefully have cps3 support soon since it uses FBA and FBAE driver/source could help.

i'd like to say that CaptainCPS-X and oopsware have done a wonderful job so far in bringing CPS3 to FBA. looking forward to next release!

OopsWare is the main developer of CPS3 driver for FBA so the ThanX should go to him ^^ , i just did some updates to his code =)

And welcome to the forums T-Kimura ^^ and all the new users too

It would be nice if those guys would stop blatantly violating the FBA license.
THEY MUST MAKE ANY CHANGES THEY MAKE TO THE SOURCE OF FBA PUBLIC.

source is in GGPO Client\diffs after you install it.

I stand corrected and happily so. :)
