My custom street fighter 2 arcade hack

(1/2) > >>

Drakon:
I've been playing around with hex editing the dumped versions of street fighter 2 and using emulators to test the effects.  I first managed to get the M5 bootleg hack running on a regular cps1.  Then I managed to change a lot of the physics and other things in the hack.  I removed the computer opponent teleportation, I gave e honda the ability to throw fireballs, I slowed down the light fireball speed, and I did a lot of other stuff.

Here's the first version of my hack before I added most of the features just to prove it runs on an actual cps1 arcade board:

And here's some captured videos of the latest version

KaNyErO:
good job!

Could you provide .ips patches for us to test the roms?

Thanks!

Drakon:
And ips for a zip file?  I don't think so.

*snip*

copy this into the winkawaks roms / cps folder

run winkawaks, it'll be listed as street fighter 2 champion edition world 920313

Right now the only bug I found is the special ending gets stuck.  I'll see if I can fix that but changes are I won't be able to.  Other than that the game works perfectly.

*edit*

I fixed the special ending it works again.  I'm going to have to re-upload my hack

iq_132:
Cool work, but no rom links please :)

Drakon:
Well if someone wants to help me make a ips patch that would be appreciated.

*edit*

nevermind I figured it out:

ips patching party ahead.  You need to unzip the rom zip and patch three roms then stick them back into the zip file after they're patched for it to work.
