DonPachi hacking?

An idea sorta popped in my head the other day whilst playing DonPachi.  I noticed that the music is really low-fi with tons of aliasing in the arcade version.  Has anyone ever thought about hacking in the higher quality music samples from, perhaps, the PS1 version of the game?

I think it would be quite complicated to do this, the "low quality" said the song was because of audio chips.

I think the easiest method would be to synchronize MP3s with the game, according to "levels" of the game, would play such music.

But ...
