Konami Chequered Flag

This is not a request, but just a "curiosity"... I know, I used up all my driver requests until 2018 !  :p

I saw that all "Konami Chequered Flag based hardware" games are emulated by FBA, except Chequered Flag !

Is there a specific cause for this lack (e.g. additional chips not emulated by the FBA core) or not?

When I was porting the Konami cpu games this one was marked as not working.

It Always Worked just a few Protection issues meant it was marked as not working those Prot issues are sorted now and the
Game not working flag has been removed from the driver Just for the Record :D

Not really checkered flag-based, but using the same Konami custom main CPU - '88 games, Ajax, Aliens, Block Hole, Crime Fighters, Escape Kids, Gang Busters, Haunted Castle, Parodius, The Simpsons, Surprise Attack, Thunder Cross, and Vendetta.
IIRC all of the chips used by Chequered flag are emulated in FBA.

Well it might still need the Konami ROZ graphical layer ported unless FBA has this already..??? I hear Jackel is almost there maybe
more chance of that one turning up some time ;)

I suppose you are talking about Konami Jackal... (IIRC) a kind of mix between Choplifter and Commando! Without doubt a good new addition!  :wink:

FBA already has the k051316 ported. (Roz). Probably not a great target atm for me just due to its complexity and my free time. Jackal was just ported though. Good stuff.

Oh i was just shooting the breeze big fella i wasn't requesting it or dropping hints infact jackal is the better game in my opinion nice

Obviously, there is no hurry... if and when you have time and desire to make the porting, I will be happy to see it on FBA... :)
