Input presets and Clear Locking
« on: May 05, 2018, 08:50:12 AM »
Maybe you've noticed the Clear Lock checkbox when assigning an input and wondered what it does?
In short, it will disable an input and keep it from being filled in from your preset file.

Here's an example of this being usefull:
let's say you set up your custom preset, for example: (In this example I'm using a Sony Dualshock controller)
P1 Button 1: X on controller
P1 Button 2: [] on controller
...
...
P1 Auto-Fire Button 1: O on controller

Now, let's say this preset works fine for about most of the games you play.  But there are some where Auto-Fire is not needed, and you'd like the button O to be assigned to (for example) P1 Button 3.   Since O is mapped to P1 Auto-Fire Button 1 in your preset; if you clear the Auto-Fire button and check Clear-Lock.  Now every time you re-load the game: O will no longer automatically be re-mapped to P1 Auto-Fire Button 1.

bye for now,
