FB Alpha v0.2.96.73 Released

Treble Winner released a new official version of FBA! ^^, check it out!...

Quote

FB Alpha 0.29.73 Release

Had a bit of time to put a new FBA together. The binaries are now compiled with MinGW as I can't get consistent results with the Microsoft compiler. Here is the what's new;

Thanks go to the neosource forum regulars for a lot of this stuff. iq_132 has written many drivers for older games, and Oopsware has contributed some impressive drivers too. Captain CPS-X and KOF2112 have also tidied up some things. This list is from memory and some stuff is sure to be missing.

    * Added a generic tiles decoding routine and updated various drivers to use it
    * Added support for 32x32 tiles in the generic tile rendering module
    * Added support for multiple YM2203s to the YM2203 interface
    * Updated all sets to match MAME 0.123u1
    * Tidied up all source code to compile cleanly for all builds (unicode, non-unicode, debug, non-debug)
    * Added support for M6502 CPU
    * Added support for SH-2 CPU
    * Added support for NEC V30 family CPU
    * Seperated misc drivers into "Misc (pre 90s)" and "Misc (post 90s)"
    * Moved some common sound cores into the burn folder
    * Added various clones and fixed some little issues in various games
    * Added driver for Madgear and Last Duel
    * Added driver for 1942
    * Added preliminary driver for 1943 and added support to the Zet interface to get the BC register
    * Added Oopsware's CPS-3 driver
    * Added various drivers by iq_132
    * Cleaned up the drivers by iq_132 (seperated into Misc pre 90s category, corrected aspect ratios, fixed rom-sets, etc.)
    * Added driver for seta2 hardware
    * Added preliminary driver for m92 hardware in debug builds
    * Added a d_parent module to put required parent drivers that don't have a specific driver

I've made mirrors for the files so Treble's server doesn't get too saturated ^^, the source  / binaries will be available asap in the "FinalBurn Alpha Download Checkpoint" right here at NeoSource forums to keep the collection up to date ^^

Source Code

- fba_src_029673.zip [~2.40MB]

Unicode Binary

- fba_029673_unicode.zip [~1.79MB]

Non-Unicode Binary

- fba_029673_non_unicode.zip [~1.78MB]

Yes i noticed the linear scaling bugs too :S still a sturdy build tho :) (looking at the /cps3 folder of this new FBA and the oopsware driver found on this site, its nearly a week out of date (oops driver is 14/1/2008, FBA 73 is 9/1/2008) maybe someone should let him know so he can update??

Not surprised I missed one - there were a lot of external files in this release! I'll add the latest files to my tree now.

Hey Treble as soon as I can access my desktop PC SATA hard disks I will send you my CPS3 files, Oopsware sent me those via MSN after he released his latest updates so they should be more actual, btw, he told me there were various updates for the CPS3 sound too in there so I think that should be pretty good to add to your official release I think  :smilie:.

I hope I can get those files soon man, my desktop PC just chooses the wrong times to get things burned or not working T___T

SeeYaa!

This is both unexpected and really really nice. Oopsware seems to have updated his cps3.zip on his site as well with some graphics bug fixes. This can only mean I have a lot of work to do before going into hobbyist programming hibernation. I'll need to postpone my funeral.

It's compiled with MinGW now.  The exp. blitter is only for VC compiles.

Voy a estar recuperando mi instalación de VC2008 hoy en mi laptop, así que intentare verificar si compila bien usándola, si es así entonces estaré posteando un 'build' que tenga soporte al Blitter Experimental lo mas pronto posible ;p

I will be getting back my VC2008 environment today into my laptop so I will try to check if it compiles fines using it, then I will post a build supporting the Experimental Blitter asap ;p

newbie question:

The d_cps3.cpp drivers in the official FBA release is different to oopsware's one but the official one was updated more recently. They're different too (like 2 lines or something). Which one should be used?

It compiles fine with no warning since the cleanup. The mole driver using the 6502 core has issues as does the madgear driver whose inputs don't work. I didn't have the time to explore the issues in any detail, especially since it compiled fine.

I finished getting my VC2008 environment and did a compilations, and yeah, as you said, Mole Attack driver have problems , and Mad Gear seems to have something going on with the way inputs code it's being compiled by VC, all of it it's very weird. Anyway I will be experimenting some things and if I find out I will let you know here.
