service button for games (9) = NOT AVAILABLE

Hello,
i am playing some MAME roms witgh FBA emulator but there is no service game button for game i play.
Service game default button should be 9 and i also enabled service button but it still does not work.
How come ?

Service game button works to enter game (MAME ROM i am playing) options like GAME TIME MINUTES or ANY GAME SOUNDS/AUDIO or GAME MANUFACTURER SETTINGS, etc..

I also took a pic about this bug (scroll pic to the right):

Given your screenshot - you're pressing F9. Try pressing 9 instead. :)

Also, the service button mapped to the 9 key is used for credits (in FB Alpha and MAME).

F2 is the service switch you are after....

sorry but if i press 9 (service mode button) nothing happens.
Same thing with F2 because nothing happens again and also F2 does not exist in any menu.

Service mode for some games requires changing a dip setting, others requires pressing a button.  Usually if the dip setting has service mode, then the service buttons in the input settings add a credit.

ok, i solved SERVICE MODE bug by myself so there are steps to get into:

1) To enter SERVICE MODE, you must first load your rom.
2) Then, you must go to DIPSWITCH settings and enable SERVICE MODE from off to on like this:



3) Then, you must restart your rom and a multicolor cube will appears on FBA screen like this:



4) Now you must press 1 or 2 keyboard key and u enter SERVICE MODE.


In other words, secret is to enable SERVICE MODE from dipswitch and then restart your rom or FBA.
You cannot enter SERVICE MODE when you are playing your rom so these settings in MAP GAME INPUTS are useless:

This should be normal... you are emulating an hardware, so for some dip-switch setting is needed a virtual-system reboot (restart emulation).

There is no bug. FBA behaves like the original hardware did.

The service switch (9) adds service credits (like the hardware).

The dip switch allows you to enter service mode (like the hardware).

Your confusion is coming because MAME supports a hack that allows the F2 button to toggle the service mode dip switch.

Football Champ nice game one of my ole faves if you like it i'd also recommend Euro Champ 92 which is the Euro Version
it has enough differencies over the original to be worth keeping both games in your romset

It used to be in my local take-away. Used to hear "Football Champppp" waiting for pizza after being in the pub.

Ah memories eh!! Used to have it in my local Arcade kinda lucky where i lived as we had two of em plus the seaside Fair the "shows"
as we call em up here was around most of the summer giving us 3 Arcades plus my local chippy had Vanguard and bombjack although
it was hard to get a game on those as the "Big Boys" would steal your 10p ha ha
