Topic: Megadrive Streets Of Rage II slowdowns

Hi,
first i would like to thank you Barry & iq_132 for the wonderful emulator that's FB Alpha.
Second, i'm reporting that i have weird slowdowns while playing Streets of Rage II (megadrive), it seems to get messy when multiple sprites get on screen.
Other drivers, like cps2/3, neogeo, run perfectly with filters turned on.
My specs should be able to run it fullspeed (iMac c2d 2.66).

Hit the backspace button your keyboard while playing those areas you get slowdown. This will show you how many frames / second fba is actually drawing. If it's less than 60 (or 50 if it is a PAL [European] game) then it's probably an issue on your end. If it is within a few frames of 60/50, then it's an issue with fba. ^^

Hi and thanks for the reply,
the game is US version, the framerate slows down from 60/61 to 57/58 for about 0.5/1 second, the sound stutters and there are hiccups in the gameplay speed.

Hi iq_132,
sorry to bother but to reproduce the problem and better understand it, launch the PAL version of the game and give a punch to someone.
The game slowdowns a lot and it's unplayable. The same problem happens with the JAP version but it's less impacting.
In MESS the game plays smoothly without this problem in both JAP/PAL versions of the game.

I'll take a look.  No promises though. The megadrive driver isn't exactly my forte.
