Title: Disable Trackball Recentering?
Post by: Azurelan on March 06, 2021, 09:53:37 AM
I'm running lr-fbneo on Retropie on a Raspberry Pi 4. For games like Out Run and After Burner I'm using a trackball by setting Device Type to Mouse (ball only). This works except that when the trackball isn't moving the game recenters the control. For example, when I move the trackball left, the game steers left as expected. When the trackball stops then the game returns to straight.

For comparison, If I use MAME 2010 this doesn't happen. The game continues steering to the left when the trackball isn't moving.

Is there an option to disable this recentering?

Thanks.

Trackball is totally broken on libretro, unfortunately.

Barbudreadmon maybe there is a different way to access the trackball controlls in lr that we need to use, I wonder how the mame core gets around this?

@dink Actually, the issue where trackball would stop working when leaving window bounds was fixed some time ago :)

I feel stupid now, I read but didn't see he was playing car games.  my bad.    We'd have to come up with a different solution for that, since steering is largely co-ordinated towards analog thumbstick-type controls.
