MAME 0.90 Help Please
« on: January 08, 2005, 11:06:16 AM »
Hi I just downloaded what looks like a full set of roms for MAME 0.90.  I wanted to verify the roms with ClrMAME, but I am a little confused as to what to use.

Fully-Merged Disk Supplement
Fully-Merged ROM Supplement

None-Merged Disk Supplement
None-Merged ROM Supplement

Split-Merged Disk Supplement
Split-Merged ROM Supplement

I want to keep the parent rom with the big file size rom and clones with small size so they use the parent's files from the parent rom.  I hope that makes sense.

e.g
kof99.zip 20mb
kof99a.zip 2mb

Should I use "Split-Merged ROM Supplement"?  What is the difference in ROM and Disk?

Also onto a different matter, anyone can recommend a GUI MAME like MAME32FX but I don't like to type "OK" every time I want to play a game.

Thanks for any help  :D

Thank you both for your reply.  Should I use:

Split-Merged Disk Supplement

Or

Split-Merged ROM Supplement

Also can you recommend a good GUI MAME that does not need the user to type "OK" every time a game is launched?
