Title: Retropie: Microsoft X-Box 360 Pad (1118/654) not configured
Post by: eDrinker on February 16, 2017, 03:15:35 AM
Hello,

I have wired Xbox 360 controller and all the emulators work fine but "Final Burn Alpha" and maybe some of the "MAME Emulators".

When starting a ROM it will flash yellow with "Microsoft X-Box 360 Pad (1118/654) not configured".

I tried Googling this exact phrase or around these words with no avail.

I've also read here: https://github.com/retropie/retropie-setup/wiki/Xbox-360-Controller.

I tried changing "udev" to "sld" and back again
I tried using "Xpad" and "Xboxdrv" drivers
I tried unplugging and plugging in back again again
I tried a different controller

On the wiki it has a section about "Xbox 360 Controller button configuration for retroarch and final burn alpha" but perhaps I don't understand it.

Should I ensure these these config files have the same settings as the wiki?

/home/pi/RetroPie/configs/all/retroarch.cfg
/home/pi/RetroPie/emulators/pifba/fba2x.cfg (or /opt/retropie/emulators/pifba/fba2x.cfg in some versions)

Any suggestions or anything I should test I would appreciate it.

Hi,

You know PiFBA is not libretro and therefore won't use your retroarch key configurations, right? Did you specifically set the PiFBA config?
If you did, then I believe you should bring up to the author of PiFBA.

Also, I assume you're using a Pi 1 or Zero, because if you're on a Pi 2 or 3, then you'd better use lr-fbalpha.

Sorry for wasting everyone's time.

FYI I simply updated all the packages and it works now.

I assume he was using libretro-fbalpha, this message seems like something retroarch is showing when it can't find the autoconfig file for a controller. Updating retroarch-joypad-autoconfig files probably solved the issue.
