Input recordings from command line, and recording in RetroArch?
« on: November 16, 2022, 05:45:03 PM »
Is it possible to run fbneo from command line and have it record .fr files?

I know that playback is possible, ie:
fbneo gameplay.fr

But what about making a recording?

Also, I realize that this is more of a RetroArch question than a FBN question, but does anyone know of any way to record .fr files from within RetroArch? RA supports video recording, but support for input recording is basically nonexistent. Recordings are important to me, and I for one would much rather have MAME .inp's and FBN .fr's than video files. It's maddening that there's no way to invoke record/playback functionality from within RA.

No you can't, this is a frontend feature and the libretro api has nothing to hook this between the core and the frontend.
Also, RA has its own format for input recording (bsv iirc ?).
