FBN Discussion / Re: problems recognizing ROMs
« Last post by barbudreadmon on April 21, 2024, 12:18:08 PM »
CPS1 romset is named ffightae.
CPS2 romset is named ffightaec2.

If you built your own romset using "FFAE CPS2 installer", make sure you named it correctly (so ffightaec2 ?), or FBNeo won't recognize it.

I have never used this installer, but, I can recommend something to google: "fbneo archive.org full"
note: there appears to be a cps2 version of the rom, now, too

Okay, close. "This game is known but it's missing files for this version of FBNeo."

Verify:
ff-23m.8h
ff-22m.7h
ff-5m.7a
ff-7m.9a
ff-1m.3a
ff-3m.5a

These files appear to be a part of FFAE for CPS1. They don't seem to be produced by the FFAE CPS2 installer:

Hi count-rostov,
I think all you need to do is rename it to ffightae.zip and rescan the roms

Greetings, I came from Final Burn Neo's Github. Happy to find this thread!

I've been working on using FBN Core for Android in RetroArch and would love to get the great Final Fight AE CPS2 loading, but FBN doesn't recognize this romset: 'ffae_cps2.zip'.

This archive was created properly from their Java Installer and was in the /mame directory. Any tips on post-processing requirements or needed FBN Settings changes?

Thanks!

Looks good, although I never gave Dr. Mario or its clones a fair chance.

IMHO 'Dr. Mario' & clones are good variants of 'Tetris style' games... and "Mai Nurse" is a good 'Dr. Mario' clone! ;)

Added the support to a new PC-Engine homebrew:

There are two new translations worth checking out...

1) Hokuto no Ken: Shin Seikimatsu Kyuuseishu Densetsu for the Genesis / Mega Drive.

The game was released in the west as Last Battle, but heavily censored and altered.

Download here.

2) Contra for the NES / Famicom:

This one improves -or so it claims- on the previous patch by Stardust Crusaders. It's worth noticing the Japanese version of the game has some extra content never seen in the west.

Download here.
