yeah, that's a more complete list, I just listed the ones I knew worked well :-)

should give people a better idea at least.  a lot of the requests seem to be for systems where FBA doesn't even emulate the CPUS

it would be a brave soul to make a request here without doing their homework 1st

Mortal Kombat ????

Just joking. I remember there was a web with a database where you could choose romsets filtered by cpu type, but i can't find it now. It could be a good place for us to know wich games could be ported more or less fast.

There was Maws, but it has been down for a while now. Progretto emma (http://translate.google.com/translate?sl=auto&tl=en&js=n&prev=_t&hl=en&ie=UTF-8&layout=2&eotf=1&u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.progettoemma.net%2F) is good, but italian.

That's a good target, and I have an extremely preliminary driver for it, but haven't had terribly good luck. I know the 683c020 core in fba is a little buggy though.

Excellent! Does dkong3 use any of the CPU's already in FBA? If so, would be nice to have that along with the other donkey kongs.

Yup. In my "what i'm working on thread" there are some screenshots it (the bootleg, but the original works too).
The main issue is that I will have to port the NES sound core (APU) to fba to get sound working for the parent set.

I started writing a driver for that a while back. I need to finish it. My free time is a bit consumed by donkey kong atm.

...and that's not a bad thing! Looking forward to that. I'm just dropping some suggestions.

Another system I was looking at was Taito F3
Main CPU : MC68EC020 (is this different that EC20?)
Sound chip : ES5505

Gallop : Armed Police Unit - DONE

Namco System 86
Rolling Thunder - DONE

That was suggested exactly 1 page, and 10 posts before yours. :S

The Irem games are already in FBA (both ported by me :p).

As for the Namco games, good idea on the 86 games, rolling thunder's hardware is complex. I wouldn't mind taking a crack at it at some point though.

Wow, overlooked the F3 post. Sorry.
I noticed the IREM titles but didn't see that particular one on the list, realized it was a clone of Cosmic Cop - sorry again.

Is Konami GX compatible? There are some great shooters there.

A lot of it is far more complex than it needs to be, and probably the cause of a fair number of the bugs too.  Whoever wrote it was aiming for speed I think, but after patching up the various out of bounds accesses it was doing, and bad assumptions it was making it has neither speed nor accuracy, nor readability.

Please iq_132 can you add Sega System (Multi) 32 and Namco NB-2 support for your next FBA release? On these hardwares were made some of the best arcade games ever (Spiderman, Golden Axe Revenge of Death Adder, Outrunners, The Outfoxies...)

You should port FBA to Android  ;p

I will receive an Android tablet later this week, and once arrived intend to port SSNES to it. Once SSNES is ported, the libretro port of Final Burn Alpha will run on it as well along with all the other emulators that SSNES supports.

We'll have to look at how well performance is (target platform will be a Cortex A8 single-core at 1.2GHz with an ARM Mali-400 MP as GPU) and make speed hacks where necessary - there are already quite a lot I'm using for FBA libretro PS3/360 that could be of good use.

I was looking at certain games I want ported and comparing their cpu and sound listed on mame to match ones supported by FBA

Steel Gunner and Steel Gunner 2
CPU: M6809
Sound: YM2151

GI Joe - DONE
CPU: Z80
Sound: K054539

Taito Games when possilbe: Puchi Carat, Under Fire, Gekirindan, Darius Gaiden, Gunlock/Rayforce
CPU: 68EC020 (take your time working on that drive for FBA, I believe that it hasn't been made officially supported yet)
Sound: ES5505
- DONE

Gratia: Second Earth (eventually when the proper sound card is supported)
CPU: Z80
Sound: "YMF271" (take your time making FBA support that sound)

(I figured why my requested visco games (Storm Blade, Vasara, and Vasara 2) were unlikely: their CPU was V60, not supported by FBA as of now.) - DONE

I recently started using FBA and love it much more than MAME.
I now only have two games in my MAME install, so if you can add them to FBA i can uninstall MAME from my PC forever and never have to use it again.

Storm Blade runs on SSV hardware and i am sure iq_132 said he wasn't going to implement that driver into FBA.

I want to know what happened to the Taito F3 driver that he was working on last year. Is it still WIP or is it abandoned now?

Also the problem with the PIC emulation in most of those is that the PIC is read protected, so there's no valid code to emulate.

What about super buble pop

never traced why the inputs don't work properly (and we need a hack to prevent screen corruption) in MAME...  probably some lame protection, but could just be bugs in our emulation / hardware limits the game abuses and we don't emulate.

So they take code from an open source project while at the same time maybe doing a few drivers then dont release their src for
fear others will use it now that is laughable!!!

kinda reminds of when bootleggers hack the PCB of a popular Arcade game say bubble bobble create their own version of it
then actually have the cheek to add their own protection scheme

I know I haven't been much involved but I have years of memories of your contributions and even having some dialogue with you about some projects in the past. You've done some great things and I'm sure you will continue to do things at your own pace.

Many thanks.
