spinner not working in Tron in Mame 2000

I have a GRS Spinner Ver2 and trying to get Tron to recognize the spinner with no luck. Retropie running 4.7. Tron rom is running in the Mame 2000 core. If I understand this right Mame 2000 does not support spinners? is that correct? In Retroarch core options I do not see the line Mame2000-mouse_device = "mouse" like I do in Mame 2003. If I go under Emulators.cfg file tron is listed Arcade_Tron = "lr-mame2000" If I go into configs/all/retroarch/config/mame2000 I open the tron.cfg file in wordpad and do not see "mouse enabled" line.... So my question is, Can I edit the line in wordpad under emulators.cfg from arcade_tron = "lr-mame2000" to arcade-tron = "lr-mame2003"? Will this work if i change cores? Thanks

Should be able to, lr-mame2003 is the way to go!

thanks! So just by changing the line to "lr-mame2003" will work? do I need to copy any .cfg info? Do I need to add/edit any lines? Sorry to sound confused. I really am. If I look in configs/all/retroarch/config/MAME2003/tron.cfg it only has 2 lines of text.... it says

 input_overlay =
"/opt/retropie/configs/all/retroarch/overlay/ArcadeBezels/tron.cfg"

other than that, there are 3 more tron.cfg files.... sequentially tron2, tron3, and tron4. They all say the same line which is this...

input_overlay = "/opt/retropie/configs/all/retroarch/overlay/MAME-Vertical.cfg"

Well, this is neither a retroarch, nor a mame, nor a retropie forum, and while i might be able to give answers if the questions concern FBNeo on retropie, i won't be able to give a solid answer to this one, it would probably be better to ask support to the retropie guys on their forum : https://retropie.org.uk/forum/
