Suggestion for NeoGeoCD on FBN

(1/2) > >>

Joaquim2020:
I just remember one thing about NeoGeoCD and i think this can improve a lot of users.
It is possible to make FBN reading NeoGeoCD Images in to CHD format?
This will save 80% of size for each game.
Please make this sticky if possible.

26GB total, if we remove all the clones from kof jp version or en we have 23GB total.

Thanks!

One user using mame neogeo cd as chd format: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rp5z-5vnk78

dink:
not going to happen.

suggestions and reasoning:
0. hdds cost nothing now.  really :)  get a 32gig usb thumb-drive and store all of your cds on there if you want.  I got one for $3USD last week new.
1. fb emulated neogeo cd first and bin/cue has been the standard since the 90s
2. chd library & support code is larger than the entire fb emulator, it will make the source tree look like spew and frankly i don't want to deal with that.
2.5. because of #2, compile time for fb will double or triple

and lastly, we have a very nice game-selector for bin/cue use it, love it :)

Yeah i change my mind, it seems the size is not revelant at all. If someone was able to rip ADK World, Neo Geo CD Special and KOF 98 Special Edition in to a MVS Rom, i wasn't be so much worried about it, because MVS is already had all the stuff from Neo Geo CD.  Thanks!

Joaquim2020:
dink, i have a nother question.
The emulator can?t read neogeocd in 7z? Will not be implented in the future?
That saves us a lot of space.

Hi,
Use .bin/.cue is the only option.  Space is not a problem in year 2020.  64gig Flash Drive is $10 :)
