Title: FBA version name
Post by: Sturm on September 10, 2015, 05:02:23 PM
Hello there!

Just one (silly) doubt about the FBA version name. What is the reason to use such loooong numbers like 0.2.97.34; 0.2.97.35, 0.2.97.36... instead something simpler like 0.27; 0.28; 029... or something meaningful like Ubuntu's version name (year/month)?   :S

I like them, its different.  different = good, etc.

Although, to this day I still couldn't tell someone the current fba version if I was asked out of the blue :)

Maybe the next release can be 1.0, the one after 2.0, etc.
Or maybe next version could be named 0.37, instead 0.2.97.37.
Anyway, talking about the FBA Download page section, it would be nice to see a column of the "Release date" in the previous versions table and also a .txt of the changelog, just like the link below:

But just wondering... as the emulator carries "Alpha" on its own name, perhaps thats the reason to use such "0 dotted" version names.

I still think that, when it comes to version numbers: the more confusing - the better.
Though, I like the date thing.
