Title: Networking/Linked machines
Post by: Hydreigon on May 26, 2019, 11:43:27 PM
Title says it all. Haven't seen any threads regarding this discussion of using two emulator instances to link each other in games that support that. The most common way would be to...
Now for the list of games in this emulator that have networking capabilities:
Most of these games communicate via shared ram controlled by either an additional cpu or custom chip. How these functions are mapped obviously depends on the hardware. Sega X and Y board's network pcb are similar in design. Namco System 2's method of linking, C139, is used in later hardware that may or may not be supported. I hope this thread will serve well to this community.

It would be kinda neat if someone wanted to figure out how to link one (or more) of those games, as far as I know, nobody has tried yet.
