Make sure to get the official builds from either us:
https://github.com/finalburnneo/FBNeo   - scroll down to find the "Work in progress builds"
or Ashura-X's site, which has a WinXP compatible exe:
http://ashura.mameworld.info/nightlybuilds/builds.html

Getting FBN exe from anyone else is not recommended.

the github builds are not up to date either, but ashura is good. okay, thank you. one never learns too much... :) -> solved!

they are up to date, the date listed on the page is when the page was made, the files are up to date though.  It's confusing, sorry about that.

Hello. I have the same problem with the DX9 alternate.
The only version that is working for me is the version d that I downloaded from the website Ashura, from the 25th of January. The Github version has the error.
