Battle Garegga fire button issue
« on: December 11, 2016, 09:52:19 AM »
So, i'm playing Battle Garegga in a FBA based emu (FBA4droid) in my phone. It is supposedly based on the .38 fba revision.
All is well, but randomly (or at least i think it is random), the fire button stops working. A few seconds before that, the autofire starts having a slightly different fire rate (more gaps between shots) and then it does not fire while pressed, just by keep pressing it.

Is this some known issue with the game in this FBA revision?

In Mame .139 (mame4droid) and FBA .30 (Retroarch)  this bug does not seem to exist.

I did not experience this issue on fba 0.2.97.39.
Seems like a port specific issue, i recommend you use another android port, especially since this fba4droid project doesn't seem legal (i didn't find its sources, which i think is a violation of fba license).

Yeah, i thought that might be the case.

Regarding the emu, FBA4droid is the updated aFBA, which was open source. I don't know if that makes it all right.

I don't know if that makes it all right.
It doesn't, they took open source from another project and made it closed source, and i wouldn't be surprised if there was malware/adware included too. I don't recommend using it.

Think about it for a minute: if someone takes our code and makes a program/app out of it and doesn't release the code, how on earth are we supposed to fix it if something goes wrong in their version of the code?

best regards,

Yeah, it's sad that some choose this approach. Things could be a lot better with an open code.
