Is there a way to decompile or extract drivers...?
« on: June 06, 2005, 07:58:48 AM »
This is something I've been wondering since long before I started to try compiling my own version of MAME.  Is it possible to extract a driver out of a compiled build of MAME / MAME32?  With a command line option like the -ls or -xl command?  Those two commands help a lot to learn the CRC's and files required for your own drivers, but they don't show you the INIT section as far as I can tell.  So if it IS possible to use some command line or decompiler (doubtful) and rip the .exe back down to it's pre-compiled files I'd love to know :D.

Thanks :),
Sorry for the noob question - I haven't seen it asked or answered anywhere I've checked yet.  Probably a stupid question...but may as well ask.
