I'm trying to fix the issue but it seems to be a little strange for me because it's using 'TCHAR' for the paths and that support unicode afaik, I will keep my research on this issue and I will  try to change my System language temporally  to Korean so I can verify the problem better.

PS: I will probably add you to MSN so you can test the build before releasing it, that way I can see if you still have the issue or if it's fixed.

here's a little problem with FBA that has plagued online play for some time regarding input delay
if you have time to aproach it and fix it in FBA Enhanced i (and a lot of online players) would be very grateful

Final Burn Alpha has 1 frame of input delay with sound enabled. with sound disabled it appears to have no input delay. however that is just a trick because the emulator skips 1 frame  masking that 1 frame of input delay.

standard Final Burn doesn't have that 1 frame of input delay regardless of sound being enabled or disabled, working as usual without frameskipping -> this can be measured by counting frames for an animation to make sure there's no frameskipping to mask input delay. for example Ryu's standing jump: it takes ~40 frames for Ryu to take off and land with no frameskipping (regardless of sound being enabled/disabled in Final Burn).

in FBA with sound disabled it takes ~20 frames for Ryu to take off and land => frameskipping.

what gives that 1 frame input delay in FBA and how it can be reverted to standard FB behavior (without frameskipping to mask input lag)?

how to test input delay easily:
enter Service -> Input menu
pause game, hold a button pressed (like low punch) and press F1 to advance through frames and notice when Shot value changes.

in standard FB hotkeys are: ALT+P (pause) and ALT+O (advance 1 frame).

PS: sorry if you find this post inadequate for this topic
PPS: did you manage to fix the sound quality for CPS3 games? that would make it perfect :D

One little suggestion: modify the "monitor properties" behaviour. It should have another option called Auto and that option should be the default one.

People with non 4:3 monitors are playing with incorrect aspect ratios without knowing it because of that and, as far as I know, WinKawaks and similar emulators don't do this.

Thank you both Aquashark and Buster for your recommendations, I have taken them in account so I will start looking for some solutions to them  ;p

I'm doing testing of a preliminary solution for the Monitor properties, now it have a Auto Check option. What this does is verify the current Resolutions of the screen and compare it with a extensive list of resolutions I made, it will know if the aspect is 16:10, 16:9, 5:4 or 4:3 and do the correct adjustments to FBA =).

If this doesn't work, there is no other way to do it (afaik for now).

Oh, and WinKawaks or similar emulators doesn't have the Auto Aspect adjustment for the monitors, it does have the same options in the menu to manually select a smaller aspect ratio or something like that, but not automatic.

So if my feature works fine, FBA will be the first in this category to do automatic Aspect ratio configuration depending on the resolution it's running =)

A little preview of 'only one' of the many new features...(tomorrow I will probably release R14 if nothing bad happens btw ^^ )

(Check the Attachment to see a preview of the new skin I made for FB Alpha Enhanced (that one is small but the new skin is bigger) ^^ too)

*snip*

I have 2 suspicions on this:
1. the rom seems to read the buttons value port (Inp00x) quite late in the frame... I ran to about 300 frames and on all of those frames, the rom seemed to read the value around 1793xx of 197886 cycles. This could have something to do with the difference in fb and fba cps2 run.
2. Its something to do with the delay in displaying. I've checked the input value reads and they're perfect. (i.e. available for read before the frame...)

Anyways, have fun CCPS-X =)

One last suggestion before releasing R14: Can you force FBA to disable "Autopause" by default?

thanks

One last suggestion before releasing R14: Can you force FBA to disable "Autopause" by default?

thanks

You can configure that in the 'Misc' menu I don't see a problem in configuring that just one time (it's a search and click situation), why would I do that default, is there a serious issue with it?...just wondering  :p

ThanX anyway for the recommendation, it's just that i don't find it really that useful, or at least that you have a special need of it.

If i'm using this emu online, and Autoplay is enabled, the lag and desynching within the game will be very noticeable. I'm worry that many people who're using this emu online will forgot to turn off the feature.
