That's unfortunate about Sonic 2 VS, but I appreciate you taking the time to look into it. I don't exactly know how to contact the authors of this romhack either, but there does seem to be a link to the Discord server at the bottom of the page, which I imagine could be useful for getting in contact with them. https://shc.zone/

On Sonic 2 VS
I spent 2 and a half solid weeks on trying to figure this one out.  I'm afraid I have to give up.  I realize that this is a super, super awesome hack - which is why so much time was spent.  The only thing we can do now is, perhaps, get in contact with the hack's author(s) and hope they might have some hints.  Maybe someone can figure out how to do that? :)  (I did a little searching, but didn't have much luck...)

It seems like the background data is getting dma'd over in a messed-up state.

This special "Treat or Treat" version was only available during Halloween for a limited time - and the developer appears to have now removed the download link from their itch.io page. :(
