Title: Repo access?
Post by: clobber on March 12, 2012, 06:40:50 PM
Hi there,

I'm clobber from the OpenEmu team (https://github.com/OpenEmu/OpenEmu) and we've ported FBA using the libsnes API. Here's some latest screenshots from our twitter feed -  http://twitter.com/#!/openemu/ - we're very excited to be including FBA in OE!

I've also been working with the SSNES team (Themaister and twinaphex) to test the libsnes port and identify bugs.

Could I have access to the repo so I can take a look at new commits going in? Pull access perhaps?

This is me on github: https://github.com/clobber

Thank you!

Hi, sorry to resurrect such an old thread but seeing how Romhack's work in order to porting fba to linux (and possibly Win/OSX with Qt) was globally applaused (and I don't see why we should not applause it), I would like to ask if something could be done in favor of seeing an FBA core in OpenEmu.

I'm not sure why clobber didn't get an answer to its asking (maybe the thread was overlooked and then forgotten...) but for sure Openemu is a great project and the devs are offering it for free, with no ads or anything that could be against FBA license (IIRW). The source code is also available.

I would really like to see somes (if not most) of the late additions from fba being available for mac users in a nice, sleek interface.

For those who don't know what I'm talking about, here's some screenshots :

As always, thanks for the hard work from every devs. You rocks guys !

The repo is for people who are working on/improving the emu itself.

If people want to submit patches (with as little impact on the current code as possible) to be included then that is no issue. Indeed, this is how libretro support was added.

Thanks Treble Winner for the explanation.

That seems pretty fair since FBA core can already be added to openemu without repo access (and the first post tends to prove that closed builds do exist)
So it's up to openemu dev team to choose to officially add (or not) this core to future builds (at least experimental builds since fba needs bios with some games).

Anyway, that's something I would really like to happen since FBA has some extras that MAME doesn't, plus it's often least demanding for weaker systems (would like to run it on a Mac Mini Core 2 Duo).
