"Loading of D3D9.DLL and D3DX9_43.DLL failed"
« on: March 28, 2017, 08:59:45 AM »
I get the error message "Loading of D3D9.DLL and D3DX9_43.DLL failed" when I start FBA.  However, it then goes on to run fine anyway.  I have DirectX 11 on my Windows 7 system so I'm not sure why it's trying to load DX9 anyway.

  • All games deserve to be emulated, more or less! :P

If you don't use the DirectX9 blitters (Experimental or DirectX9 Alt) D3D9.DLL and D3DX9_43.DLL are not essential... in any case, you can try to install the official DirectX End User Runtimes: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=8109

Yeah, but it's just an annoying error to have every time you start up.  Can't it be suppressed or something?

Probably Direct X Runtimes can solve the issue... as an alternative you can try to download D3D9.DLL and D3DX9_43.DLL from the web and put them in the emulator root folder (e.g. C:/emulators/FBA/)... but I'm not sure that this will fix the issue...

PS: what version of FBA are you using?

Just put d3dx9_43.dll file in the folder where fba.exe is :

It will solve your problem.

Best regards.

Did you try to select a different blitter?  Try the Enhanced blitter perhaps?

Yes, probably the Enhanced blitter (Direct3D 7) is the best choice for the current FBA... the "important thing" to remember is that this blitter is available only in the FBA 32 bit versions (Windows Binary and Windows XP Binary).
