Regarding the Taito arcade set
« on: June 06, 2014, 09:55:25 PM »
I was just kind of wondering are you going for a complete set of each category in FBA?

I noticed there are some missing games such as Light Bringer/Dungeon Magic in the Taito section, any info on this?

That would be awesome if all those classic games were in FBA :P

Those taito arcade games have the specs (I know Gekirindan):
CPU: 68EC020
Sound: ES5505
Driver: taito_f3.c
Not supported, yet. Hopefully, Barry has made progress into implementing the driver to FBA and it is done sometime in the future.

iq had a preliminary driver somewhere.

The ES5505/6 is used by Super Chase but I never got it working and hence never get the motivation to look at F3.

Hmm, I think I might have to try hooking sound up in iq's taito f3 driver.  It compiles and Gekirindan runs through the demo sequences just nicely. although the video is sideways and it wont accept a coin.

EDIT, I thought about this, and don't want to bite off more than I can chew ... again..  I got the video right, at least.

Treble Winner, do you hang out on irc?  maybe we can coordinate a get-together and do some collaborative efforts on this driver?

best regards,
