Um you fellas have cheats for puzz loop 2 for all the emus it can play on whcih include finalburn and kawaks? :confused:
Also do you fellas have invinciblity cheats, infinity items, have all the items, enable all characters, infinite power, infinite or maximum power and level for Knights of Valour and all other cheats that you fellas can come up with for this game?
One last thing, the invincibility cheat for Mars Matrix for finalburn doesn't work at all, it doesn't show up on the emulator at all. Is there any way you fellas could fix that?

if you look at a fba cheat, it's pretty straight-forward to convert these (I'll let you figure that out),
but you need to xor the address (10dcde / 10dd0a) by 1 -> so 10dcde becomes 10dcdf and 10dd0a becomes 10dd0b and so on.

Yeah... there are a few others on neogeo as well. FBA's MAME cheat.dat reading routine ignores those cheats because they're not implemented.

What cheats are compatible for final burn alpha v0.2.97.5?
They were supposed to be in .ini format right in supposed to go in the 'cheat' folder in the 'support' folder. But so far no luck. I really need cheats to practice marvel vs capcom.

Hi there, I noticed that with the 6 player version of X-men (xmen6pu) the arcade game the MAME cheats allow you to select your character instead of being stuck with Cyclops, but FB Neo runs superb on my Android set up and doesn't cooperate with my mame versions as well. I was told you may be able to convert the XML to a .CHT if I requested here?

There is no such cheat for victroad as far as we know, the closest ones would be those that allow to select weapons/armour/grenades

I recommend copying the cheat.dat support file from here (https://neo-source.com/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=3829.0;attach=22537) to the cheats support folder in your FBNeo setup.

Thank you for the tip. I did that and things seemed to be working great, but when I enabled the weapon select cheats, it deactivated the "vacuum" effect when the green slabs show up to drop you into a mini-boss fight. I just walk right over it and nothing happens, and I can't progress beyond that point. Common issue?

Cheats are by no means perfect; sometimes you need to disable them before boss and cutscenes, It really depends on the game and cheat.
In Victory Road I found that the "always have armour" cheat causes the green portals to dysfunction, so make sure you turn it off before walking over a portal (the green mirror slab thing). If you play the game without the cheat: notice that the player sheds his armor when entering a portal - probably so they didn't have to use extra sprite tiles for the entering portal sprites w/armor. With the cheat active, the game is probably stuck trying to get him to shed the armor, so the portal process can't begin.

Thank you for chiming in. In my case though, I'm only using the weapon select cheat (flamethrower/red grenades). Nothing else. Is there anything else I should look into?

Our cheat.dat already includes cheats for nbajamte, and as long as you are using a somewhat recent nightly build (https://github.com/finalburnneo/FBNeo/releases/tag/latest), they should be usable for all of its clones

Thanks, I already found that file. I mistook using pugsys cheat.xml instead of cheat.dat files.
I managed to convert a code not on the cheat.dat files.

The codes I'd really like to see are breaking the backboard every time, and being able to dunk from anywhere.
I tried comparing them to the codes used on the cheat.xml, but converting them to the .dat format doesn't work at all.
All the xml codes use a line litre 109876, instead of something like 21D56 etc. I don't think using the xml codes can be transferred in the same way.

On midway stuff, the .mw means it comes from the game's romspace. On cheat.dat, the code for this is 39900000
For example, the dunk breaker translated to cheat.dat:

Hmm... I had to block the nbajamte2 cheats in order to get them to read in the game, you placed the codes for ver 4.0, not 2.1.
The break backboards code and dunk anywhere crashes retroarch trying to apply it. Is that because the address values need to be adjusted for 2.1 or just not something retroarch/fbneo can handle on Androids?
I did update the cores and everything. Still crashed. When you say .exe I'm assuming you're talking about a pc program. I'm only using an Android mobile. But hopefully it's something that can still be executed on.

The libretro core (retroarch) is updated a little slower than the main fbneo (which is the pc program), when the update happens the problem will be fixed. Hopefully will be soon!

Still crashing.
I just tried it on PC via a fresh retroarch, and FBNeo install (fbneo standalone), and both of those crash too.
Are you using something else, or just creating the codes without testing them yourself? Cause I'm convinced it's the codes crashing the programs lol.

Yes, I tested them. The problem was fixed last night, and included in the github nightly binaries, which are available here:

Well, it's updated and not crashing. But the dunks from anywhere isn't working, and the break the boards is causing the screen to go black,freeze, then restarts... on Android.
I didn't try the nightly version, I'll try that one when i get home. Hopefully the retroarch will fix itself in an update soon.

You're welcome! :)
Well, arcade games (especially arcade) do hardware tests at startup. When cheats are active, they modify locations in ram and/or rom, so when the tests of the game run, the game thinks ram or rom is bad. This is normal and really the only way around it is to only enable the cheats after the game has booted up.
Some games need special attention when using cheats, for example "Turbo Force" needs the cheats to be turned off at the end of each level, or it will get stuck.

I'm a RetroArch user on Linux, I've never used the standalone. I was just going to ask you if it was possible to put the description and enable/disable the cheats, and I see the cheat.dat.

It has it, but in RetroArch I don't see it, I also don't get an option to enable/disable cheats. It would be very useful to have those options in the core.

And what is the line under the name of the trick, that says "Specific to the run blah blah blah..."
When you load a core, in information, you have several lines of system comments.
But I mean to have it in the cheat.dat, I did....

Just a keyboard shortcut, to activate or deactivate and reactivate the active cheats. as it has mame to activate the gui with "select + x".
I am seeing some problems that affect users.
- Having cheat descriptions
- Some games will not start if you leave cheats on
- Some games require you to disable and re-enable cheats, in the middle of the game.
mame solves this with popus and 2003+ with info lines, they also disable cheats and restart the game if it fails to load. How will FBNeo do it?

This is just something we get used to with cheats, even before mame has the info lines. remember: when a game malfunctions, turn off cheats then back on when it's time. It goes for all games, even those without the text-lines.

So i actually found a way to forcibly disable those cheats core options at boot, but now i'm wondering if some cheats actually require to be enabled at boot (?), because that would prevent them from working.

Start disabled, I think it's a better option than loading a game that freezes.
And let the user activate them, according to his needs.
As they are at the moment, if the user activates the cheats, they are automatically activated when loading.

No, if i forcibly disable them at boot, it'll never be possible to start games with one of their cheats enabled.

Cheat options should never be "saved", they're only active (after switched on by the user) for the time the rom is loaded.

It's in Wayder's classic cheat.dat file - see attachment :)
rename it to cheat.dat (wayder_cheat.dat -> cheat.dat) and put into support/cheats
